| I am enjoying classical music since more than 30 years and I rarely heard such a jewel. My personal advice is simple : get this disc (at any price) and listen. Believe me : You will not leave your seat before the very last note of this SACD and you will hardly refrain to play it again immediately. The recording is absolute top notch and I cannot find the appropriate words to describe the beauty of the interpretation. This record is a reason on its own to purchase an SACD equipment, even if this kind of music/orchestra is not like me, your favorite choice. By the way I only played the stereo track.

| I'd choose this recording if I had to use only one disc to demonstrate the virtues of multi-track SACD technology to a doubting Thomas. Beautiful music flawlessly performed and recorded with consummate skill. Simply perfect in every respect!

These are generally good, competent performances from a new ensemble. The sound is acceptable, but with a “covered” quality that works against the brilliance of the strings.
