I bought this SACD cheaply on eBay more or less blind, knowing only the pianist Cedric Tiberghien who has recorded successfully for Harmonia Mundi (Beethoven Variations and Debussy).
I was only familiar with the Ravel Sonata, which is given a fine performance - as are the other works, so I can recommend this SACD as the sound is good as well, with a realistic image in a pleasing acoustic and exemplary use of the rear channels.
The Faure Sonata No.1 is an enjoyable work with atmospheric by-play between piano and violin. Ravel's virtuosic Tzigane is also played idiomatically and with great skill - although I don't find the work as interesting as the other pieces here.
I will investigate other SACDs from this label on the basis of this disc.
