Ok I was hopin someone more qualified would write a review of this sonic marvel (comment for Juliens benefit) The description prepared piano certainly didnt prepare this listener....So where to begin.,,,,,,Its for Piano and quite a few non musical instruments/gangets acting anything from cheapskate accompanyment to tonal colorization ?.wow am I on a roll. The description of his other reviewed sacd seems also ideal for this. Nine title tracks from 4.40 (Funfairs) to possibly overlong 11.12 (Into white) which sounds a bit like panpipe musical variations on a Piano ? That might go a long way to otherwise explaining piano pieces assisted in a semi classical jazz modern sound effects presentation.Always musical and probably not similair to anything most people would have in their sacd library.Possibly Debussy Satie and New york jazz piano playing are hinted at from a distance.The opening In Rainbows seemed easiest to assimilate.and track six Embers seemed to be easiest to identify by its title..though the technique for producing this effect is beyond my explanation...The term Kaleiderscope came to mind after a few plays..Claude I hope you are pround of this attempt..There is some description of the surround sound on the limited liner notes both in French and English, which left me more confused than prior to reading it.
I am probably more qualified to comment on the cover..Just ask Membran...this is a half star above theirs..therby reaching a whole one star.I can only assume the playing is authentic in case he turns up as another forum member..LOL.so 2 x 5 stars sorry J...Dave ps I also got it at a bargain which helped...
