Man do I miss Concord sacd's. The Company was bought out and stopped releasing sacd's altogether. And we are all the worst off for it if you ask me.

This excellent disc was recorded in 1989 and features a little less than an hours worth of terrific modern jazz. As with all Concord albums this is a remarkable recording and a beautifully transferred sacd in pure Dsd. This disc is not long enough if you ask me.

For those who know Jim Hall he is a great jazz guitarist. On this disc he is partnered with three other talented musicians and together they make for great instrumental jazz. Just listen to the beautiful keyboard/ synth layering and guitar playing on the first track and you get an idea of the talent involved. Very atmospheric to be sure.

As with all Concord sacd's the sound is first rate and compares with my best sounding sacd's. The recordings are always superb and in pure Dsd. And they are all multi-channel as well.
This disc features great three dimensional sound with very nice layering of instruments. And as with all the beat discs its highly crankable.

Concord was a label that embraced sacd from the get go and was very aggressive in doing it. Simply read their liner notes and all your questions will bre answered with regards to how much they cared. Ofcourse its a moot point now as they are gone. But their sacd's aren't.

Highly recommended. If you love jazz regardless of the era and you love the best sound for a cheap price...........what are you waiting for?

The best of the best sacd;s.
