Based on the two previous posts I decided to pick up Pure Getz. I'm sure glad I did! This is a stellar performance of Stan Getz's late period. The recording is remarkably clear making you feel like your right in the recording studio with Getz and his quartet. I enjoyed every track on this SACD, especially Blood Count. This SACD definitely comes recommended…
Listening was also done in 2-channel stereo.

Hi, With the advent of the new HIREZ formats I've become a Jazz neophite. Fortunately the music shop here in Toronto L'Atellier Grigorian has people who know music so at least I get some enlightened opinions. One of the staff is a jazz drummer and has ben guiding me to the "must have's" for my Jazz sacd library. The first one was Coltrane's "A Love Supreme" (can you believe that there's a hardcovered book based on this album) and the second is Getz "Pure Getz".
i"ve been listening in the mltich mode and find it soo clean, it's a real treat and will be enjoyed often.

Man Oh Man! This is a GOOD one. IMHO this is such a good disc that I suggest if you are in any way a Stan Getz fan, there is a space in your SACD library with the label: Stan Getz Quartet 'Pure Getz' written on it. I believe that every single aspect of this SACD deserves AT LEAST a five star rating.
Listening was done in 2 channel stereo.
