Seiji Ozawa did the great career with Boston Symphony Orchestra. They had a long relationship and they did many outstanding recordings. This is absolutely one of them.
Ozawa's approach is much faster than his many other rivals - Davis (Concertgebouw), Gergiev (LSO),Séguin (BIS) etc. There aren't any "boring" moments here. For example the fourth movement - Marche au supplice - is simply terrific.
PENTATONE's remastering is also excellent. I heard the distant oboe from the left surround speaker - thrilling experience! The disc and booklet were packaged in a strong Super Jewel Case. Highly recommend, definitely.
