So it looks like 2L is back in the game.

They NEVER left, SAM!

Why are they still selling these 30 Euro SACD + Blu-ray sets?

Their "Nordic Sound" sampler set was very useful to do a format comparison, but no music buyer needs 2 hi-rez formats with every album, especially when he has to pay almost full price for the superfluous disc.

Maybe they think their doing you a favor and future proofing the release?

Well what ever, I am seriously considering purchasing this. I have been avoiding most 2L releases because I favor the ITU miking scheme where the back channels are dedicated to providing "hall sound" and width of image in the front. Don't appreciate being seated among the instruments. But I am thinking I will take a chance on this one.

Have you purchased it yet? If so, is it one of their truly "surround" recordings, or is more realistic with the musicians in the front channels and the hall sound in the rear ones?

Check p9 the e-book(let) on

It seems to be the more "realistic" microphone setup ! :-)

I got my copy last month. On my setup, the SACD sound was superior to that on the BDA. Still, it is good to have the "future proofing" option.
