Puzzled. On Scribendum's own website, this is described as a 7 RBCD set. There appears to be no mention of SACD issue, however. If only...

Whilst we're on Mravinsky and the Leningrad Phil, here is a similar puzzle, a Regis issue of the Prokofiev 6th symphony (still painfully absent from SACD issue) and Heifetz - no less- playing the 2nd violin concerto. Marked as SACD, but I'd be gobsmacked if it is! Can anyone who has purchased it comment, please?

The 7CD set has the number SC503, while the 2SACD set listed here has the number SC603, so these are two different releases. Because the SACDs are single layer, it makes sense to release a CD set as well.
Given the detailed SACD info (duration, mastering), it looks unlikely to be a format mistake. What could have happened though is that either the SACD release was cancelled, or the distribution is more limited. If you google "scribendum + sc603", you'll find the SACD on japanese webstores (I'm not posting the links, obviously)

I have it, and to what I know it's only available from Japan (that's where I got mine, too). To all I can tell it's the same remastering (from the Abbey Road people) as on the earlier multi-CD releases from the same label; this is the same stuff collapsed onto 2 discs only, taking advantage of the greater storage capability of SACDs (cf. what BIS did with some of their sets earlier on).
So no mistake there with the labeling; this is a separate SACD listing here. Was just released, not so many days/weeks ago.
Even the earlier CD sets were very difficult to obtain from anywhere except Japan. Silveroaks once told me that was the only place to get them, too, IIRC.
Some of the individual items have been separately available earlier, e.g. the Bartok-Debussy-Honegger (I think) & others on the Japanese JVC/BMG/Melodiya "Mravinsky Edition", and a bunch of the other works (Sibelius, Shostakovich...) on various Melodiya-derived or labelled releases in the West, like the commemorative Mravinsky releases some years ago. But as a set this is great, unique even, and the sound is fine, better than elsewhere I'd say.

I've just ordered this, since you wrote the sound is better than on previous CD incarnations.
Some of the mid 1960s recordings on CD from Melodiyas weren't good- the Ride of the Valkyries was a five-minute-shriek [ like a Eurovision song contest number from hell], so too the brass from an intense Bruckner 9 etc.
However, the early 1970s concert recordings sound much better. The Sib 7 has a gritty and inexorable inevitability about it. Mravinsky's Shos 6 was definitive [ I think Karajan conceded this ], and of his Tch 5 performances I have from the 50s, 60s, early and late 70s and 80s, I feel his peak in this work came during the early 1970s. I read somewhere that the quality of the Leningrad strings deteriorated somewhat from the mid-1970s when numerous Jewish musicians left the orchestra and the country.

Sorry, my poor English I guess. By "elsewhere" I meant previous releases of these same tapes by other labels that I've heard in the past. I haven't owned the Scribenbum CDs of these -- I really tried, but they were just too difficult and expensive to get.
This set is just the same as those earlier CD box sets by Scribendum, only collapsed onto just 2 SACDs. Whether the delivery medium makes any audible difference in the sonics -- well, I don't want to open another debate on this just now.
If you have the Scribendum multi-CD sets of these, I don't see any reason to buy them anew.
