Well,
Jakko Jakszyk (Michael Lee Curran) has been a former singer/member of Kings of Oblivion/Dizrhythmia and Tangent. I came acroos him through Mick Karn/Rick Barbieri and Steve Jansen collaborations (namely Kingdom of Dust e.p.). Later on he went solo and has been involved in 21st Century Schizoid Band (together with some K.C. members) and taking parts in 1969-74 King Crimson repertoire. Significant leap forward is "Scarcity of Miracles" (w.Fripp, Collins, Harrison) available on DVD-A. More on http://www.jakko.com/
[...]
More on 5.1 mixes by Jakko here: http://forums.stevehoffman.tv/threads/steven-wilson-to-remix-elp-s-t-and-tarkus-official.286940/page-31
Thanks Sylvian.

for some people (like myself), this SACD will no longer be the definitive release of this album after this news:
http://www.quadraphonicquad.com/forums/ ... in-October
I have just been told it is okay to tell you all about this at long last - so here goes.
Featuring brand-new stereo & 5.1 mixes by Steven Wilson as well as some additional bonus material and the original stereo mix in glorious high resolution, "Close to the Edge" will be released in October this year. I cannot say too much more at this point in time, but will update this thread as & when I am able to do so. This has been a very long time in the making, but well worth the wait - the new mixes sound absolutely glorious!

Great News, rtalbot!
You just saved me some $$$ by pre~ordering the new YES SACD "Going For The One" (stereo, only) from AF!
As many posters on this and other forums have surmised, YES begs for the surround treatment and who better than Steve Wilson to create these 5.1 remasters.
Of course, they will be DVD~A but in recent months I have acquired quite a few of these (Better Than Ezra, The Vicar, Hawkwind etc) and have been profoundly pleased with the incredible fidelity and immersive soundfields these releases have yielded.
And very ironically, these sets are usually cheaper than stereo only SACDs which should be a wake~up call to MoFi, AP and now Audio Fidelity who are still stereo centric...and continue to "waste" the potential of the SACD format by NOT including multichannel!

Great to have YES this way. Now tell us when Blue Jays, Hayward and Lodge will come out in 5.1.

All I know at this point, FD, is that a pricey box set is being released (in England) of all the previously released surround remasterings of the Moodies in 'lossy' codecs. Called "Timeless Flight," it contains, among other things, 3 DVDs with DTS/DD 5.1.
I would also love the solo projects you mentioned to be released in hi~res but as in all things surround (these days) we have to be super patient!

Yep. I saw that too, via Facebook. Do you think it's worth it? Are you buying it?

Absolutely NOT! Thankfully, I have ALL the Moodies SACDs and am quite pleased with them and the over $200 (US) asking price for RBCDs and lossy DVD~Vs is for completists, only (and I'm NOT one of them).
I'm royally peeved that I bought the Stereo SACD of Yes: Close to the Edge when a Steve Wilson DVD~A in lossless 5.1 is on the horizon....and probably cheaper than the stereo only SACD!

Its only 20 or 30 dollars for another version, I can live with that but Moody Blues, forget it, I to have them all on SACD so there's no reason to get this over hyped version.
