I have ordered this and will receive it soon. I only wish Jarvi wasn't the conductor. Couldn't they have chosen someone else? I just never have seen Jarvi as anyone who does well with the standard repertoire.

I received this earlier in the week and have had one go-round with it. It's quite good--animated, light, detailed, swift, engaged. This ballet is not my favorite Tchaikovsky, but this is the best all around recording I have. Very good sound (I listen in stereo). Jarvi may be experiencing a rebirth. His recent Saint-Saens disc was excellent, too. Before these two discs he seemed to be turning into a copycat version of Leonard Slatkin.

I also have this on order and have no problem with the 5 Neeme Jarvi Tchaikovsky recordings that I have already bought.

Dull, run through, and insipid. There is nothing I really like about Jarvi's BIS Tchaikovsky recordings.

Then why did you buy it?

Good to hear this is a potential winner. I may just yet get this to replace Dorati (and its missing Entr'acte)...

Been listening to this recording this weekend. It's absolutely delightful. We have only had to wait 12 years for a complete Sleeping Beauty on SACD. This one is well worth the wait.

A bought it recently too, but will have to wait until next weekend to hear it. I am hopeful, but also realize this will probably be the only Sleeping Beauty that will ever be released on SACD.

Hopefully, Chandos will complete the trilogy now that they've started.
