Hello Bissie

I appreciate Noriko Ogawa. Do you plan to release other Mozart's sonatas with her ?

Thanks.

Already got that one in...from the BIS thread:

Listening to Noriko Ogawa/Mozart as I write - as usual with BIS: beautiful recording, beautiful playing...

Dare I ask if this is the first of a complete Mozart sonata cycle?

Gussy

No, it isn't. We already have recorded them on forte-piano with Ronald Brautigam (indeed, Mozart Complete) and there's so much other repertoire to focus on.

But she surely can play, Noriko can!

OK thanks.

I'm waiting a good multicanal recording of Mozart's sonatas on a grand piano.
The Silverman/Isomike is too expansive and... I don't know the pianist.

Sorry for Noriko Ogawa.

Don't understand you. This is a multichannel recording of Mozart sonatas on a grand piano, and she certainly can play. So you don't need to wait and there is nothing to be sorry for. Do listen to the SACD on eClassical to convince yourself.

Noriko is such a wonder! She deserves to be a star-pianist, though probably she is not very keen to be on the spotlight. Her PICTURES AT AN EXHIBITION is by far the best I have heard, an orchestral tour de force, though on piano solo, of course. And her Debussy is a complete marvel, so nuanced, varied, elegant. I am looking forward to this Mozart release.

Sorry, I was perhaps not clear...

I like a lot Noriko Ogawa as pianist but I have plenty of Mozart's sonatas CDs (Arrau, Uchida, Barenboim etc...)
I'm waiting for a complete cycle of the sonatas, on a "grand" piano, in a good multichannel recording... and because I like her a lot and I appreciate BIS records (I have 112 SACD BIS), I'm really sorry that this disc of Noriko Ogawa is not the beginning of a full cycle !

Regards.
