I wonder if a SACD box is likely?

I would think so, but I haven't waited for that. I also want to get the Blomstedt Bruckner series and will have to do it little by little even though it will cost me more in the long run. I just can't afford all at once.

Typical response from the peanut gallery who found my initial review of this disc unhelpful (2 thumbs down). They attack the reviewer, not the review. A good reason I won't be doing any further reviews on this site.

The reason the majority of folks are finding your "review" unhelpful is because it is not really a good review. See link, especially point #4 about one-line reviews. /showthread/1729//y?page=first

I deleted what I did put up at first (not a one liner but 4 paragraphs with adequate comment). I refuse to write any further reviews here.

I am really sorry you did that. Do you know the English expression about "Thin Skinned"?

You should not take this so seriously or personally! The implied criticism should roll off your back like water off a duck.

I wish I could have read your review. Since I have the recording and I really like it from the orchestral playing and interpretive points of view, and have minor reservations concerning the sound - reservations mind you, not points of harsh criticism at all, I would like to have seen what you think about it. It might have produced interesting discussion.

I'm not sure you gave enough time for a cross-section of interested parties to read your review (I didn't get to see it for one!) Would you mind posting it again so that more might get to read your thoughts please?

I didn't see your full review - only the brief one. However, it's rather sad that you decided to pick up your toys and go home after 2 people didn't find your "very good" review helpful. I've reviewed over 100 SACD's on this site and have plenty of "not helpful" responses. They don't deter me at all - when I write a review, I express my sincere thoughts about the disc and really don't care beyond that if some don't find those thoughts helpful. In my case I listen to the stereo SACD tracks and so it doesn't surprise me if some don't find my review helpful since I don't make any comments on the multichannel content. Sorry, but I think you're being way too sensitive.

Hi, I've been writing a reasonable number of reviews and sometimes wondered why people thought them to be unhelpful. In one case (Beethoven symphonies) I realized that one cannot be too 'general'. For the others... I have no idea. May be those finding the review 'unhelpful ' (and it is soooo easy to just push the button) should give their reasons for it, such as to 'help non-professional reviewers' to improve on it for the benefit of this site. Zeus should then make a provision for this.

As to your review of Tchaikovsky’s second symphony I, too, would be interested.

As for some of samayoeruorandajin's 'thumps down people': If one does not agree with the view of the reviewer, this should be NO reason to say it is unhelpful! It would, on the other hand, be be more helpful if theye were to write a review of their own, telling us how they evaluate the disk.
