I'm honestly surprised by all of the praise for this disc's sonics. I found them uninviting and somewhat limpid. Has no one else found that to be the case?

Arguably the performance lacks high drama and the pieces sound a somewhat alike, but perhaps that is, in fact, due to Barber, rather than the performers.
