I was just browsing through the "coming soon" section at Acoustic Sounds, and they have available for preorder a hybrid SACD of Elvis' 24 Karat Hits. Had heard rumors of such a release three years ago, and now it looks like it may become a reality!

Sounds great and all but coming soon from Acoustic Sounds means nothing, unless it has a date. been waiting for Cat Stevens for a year since it was Coming Soon and still no date.

It won't be the Grimm SACD transfer Steve Hoffman was planning to make for AP 3 years ago. This new release is mastered by George Marino at Sterling Sound

That's interesting, and good news if it happens. I shall keep my eyes on it - and perhaps have a look to see which tracks are meant to be featured on the SACD. I have the DVD-A of Elvis 30 #1 Hits (an odd DVD-A), and considering the vintage of the recordings, I am very impressed with the results.

It is being mastered from two and three track original master tapes, as well.
