Let's hope some (all) of them appear in the Western world at payable prices...

Hybrid? It seems single layer.

thwblueboy, thank you for pointing out this! I have revised my starting post of this thread and corrected my earlier post of Thread 89291 about the first 45 releases of this new EMI Music Japan SACD series.

All these recordings are great and deserve at last an edition on sacd. But why does Emi not release any Opera on SACD besides Furtwangler's Fidelio and Walkure? There are so many great Opera recordings sleeping in their archives!

Several of these were quad recordings, right? Too bad EMI won't release them in MC.

Yes, the Messiaen was available as a DVD-Audio in 5.1 sound

However, the opportunity to obtain the Delius/Barbirolli, Messiaen/Previn and Strauss/Kempe in the best stereo format is still enticing

So true; would be ultra great to have more gold nuggets from there.

But they did just put out the entire (Furtwaengler) Ring: Wagner: Der Ring des Nibelungen - Furtwängler. My one and only candidate for the "Reissue SACD Release of All Times" category.

The first batch of EMI signature Collection (10 titles) is now 8 or 9 months old.
And now what? Did EMI decide not to continue this series in Europe, whereas as EMI Japan is continuing to issue at least 15 titles of exceptional recordings per month (and now on single layer sacd, but at what price!) Does anyone know what the future of the Signature Collection will be?
