A Classic Sounds recording that may well silence their more vocal critics. Delightfully played and engaging. "High Noon" is the show stopper - at noon of course - whilst Rawhide 'ain't' bad either (best to be in character).

One for the car (automobile) perhaps or as background for many although it is certainly not Musak.

More serious folk will enjoy this more than enjoyable orchestral trip down memory lane. The orchestra has done more than it's fair share of film scores over the years so the players know the score!

Since I'm an ole cowhand, at heart, couldn't resist ordering this release........$13.05 delivered from AmazonUK. Will post a review.

hirefox, thanks for the recommendation.

Really wish Silva Records would release on mch SACD the newly recorded "complete" full orchestral soundtrack of Lawrence of Arabia......only available on RBCD, at present......Nic Raine conducting the City of Prague Philharmonic Orchestra.

Hope it doesn't disappoint. As kids we were raised on a diet of John Wayne, Gene Autry and Gary Cooper movies and to this day have retained a love of the old Frankie Lane vinyls. Those were the days!

Amazing how many memories are rekindled by this disc.

Got around to listening to this disc yesterday. While the male singer is not Frankie Lane, Rawhide is not bad. The entire disc sounds excellent, and I quite enjoyed the music. LSO might consider more movie music SACD releases....
