Mobile Fidelity just announced new SACD version of Patricia Barber's "A Distortion of Love". Release date TBA

I'm amazed -- I expected this was yet another album reissued that had already been released on SACD before but it hasn't!

Hopefully, Premonition Records which has released Patricia Barber's Modern Cool in stunning 5.1 DTS Master Audio on BD~Audio disc will do the same for her entire catalog.

This Elektra is the third SACD album (after Bychkov and Gergiev) and no Salome, no Ariadne auf Naxos, and one Rosenkavalier (the old Kleiber) !!!

Agreed.

Besides its ongoing Richter Edition, Praga seems now to also be launching another one, dedicated to ABM... The first SACD in the series already out on a certain non-Anglo-Saxon/German/Italian/Spanish/Japanese branch of a dominant online multiretailer, for a whopping nine euros and halfpence.

ROSSET MEYER GEIGER - TRIALOGUE

Unit Records UTR4405

Release Date: December 07, 2012

St. Gallen musicians Josquin Rosset (piano), Gabriel Meyer (bass) and Jan Geiger (drums, percussion), started playing together in 1999 and made a sensation with their 2010 debut album "what happened" with their working band "rosset meyer geiger". The annual critics' poll of "Jazz Hihyo", Japan's most important jazz magazine, awarded it gold as the best instrumental jazz album of 2010, far in front of many big American stars such as Keith Jarrett and Chris Potter. The international reviews, including New York's Cadence Jazz Magazine were full of praise. 'One of the best jazz piano trios of our present time', according to All About Jazz Italia. "what happened" was Unit Record's bestseller 2011 and had to be re-pressed three times. In 2011, the EP "Lucy's Dance" was released in cooperation with the artists Matthew Herbert, DePhazz, N.O.H.A. and Kafi-D.
Now, the second album "trialogue" is being released on Super Audio CD (SACD), as well as on Vinyl LP after being awaited with suspense and pleasant anticipation. As on "what happened", all twelve compositions are originals which have been developed and improved during three years of intensive work by the trio. For the liner notes, music journalist Wolf Kampmann could be enlisted. He recommends listening to the album every day!
