Great news, thank you.
"Ten more hybrid SACDs in the Signature Collection, variously listing for between $22 and $27, depending on the outlet, will be released in November."

It's very hard to find these EMI Signature discs in the database here unless you know precisely what you're looking for. Does anyone know a way of seeing the whole list all at once?

If I type in 'EMI Signature' on Amazon.co.uk, you only get 11 results - is that all there is?

There were ten in the original release all listed on here

Under Titles just scroll dow to EMI without a country tag

It is excellent news that EMI will persist with this venture despite the inevitable band of nay-sayers baying in the wind and the chill wind of recession whistling around the Abbey Road Studio doors.

Why do people hate enterprise and change so much. Stereophile seem to have more than it's fair share of very opinionated moaners amongst their subscribers. If they don't like them they don't need to buy them. Simon & team are probably going nuts trying to squeeze the juice out of their old tapes, a thankless task if they are trying to please the hi-fi community as opposed to music lovers.

Thanks John, I managed to find them that way, just wasn't sure if that was all of them.

Any news if EMI Signature releases will include the Klemperer-conducted performances of Die Zauberflote or Fidelio?

I have been waiting to see if Martinon's Debussy collection would be included in the next batch of EMI Signature Collection Releases, but with EMI Classics in the process of being sold due to bankruptcy and lots of uncertainty, I went ahead and ordered the EMI-Japan release (of the Martinon Debussy collection) and I must say that I am very pleased with it.

Debussy: Orchestral Works - Martinon

I have been very pleased with the entire EMI SACD-reissue series. I know the mastering methods are controversial (and honestly I can hear a PCM signature to the remastered sound; I agree with purists that a straight analog to DSD transfer may have produced an even better sounding result), but I have been happy with every title that I have purchased in the series.

All of them sound subtly freshened and improved compared to previous CD and analog (vinyl) incarnations...sonically it's a bit like the Sistine Chapel frescoe renovation...for those used to the darker and less detailed analog releases...it's probably just as disconcerting and controversial (to hear these recordings presented in such a new way).

I understand why this effort has been controversial but I am nevertheless pleased with the results.

For the Martinon Debussy, I'm kind of surprised they can't use the 5.1 master prepared by DTS in the late 1990s. Ditto for Karajan's Tchaikovsky and Mozart, should those also be part of the next cycle.

I was unaware that there had ever been a 5.1 mix of the Martinon (wonder how it sounds), but I do know (from reading the liner notes) that this re-issue is in stereo and was recently re-mastered by Abbey Road for the EMI-Japan reissue series.

I have Volume IV {La Mer and Nocturnes} of the Martinon DTS series (5 DTS discs, in total, were released) and the rear channels are used for ambience. Sound~wise, for a 1998 release, it sounds wonderful but the Japanese 4 disc SACD set is really superb. Interestingly enough, the DTS Martinon was authored from 24 bit Abbey Road Masters and sonic solutions was utilized at the time as well.

Should EMI England also release SACDs of this set (the Japanese SACDs are approximately $90), my advice would be to employ DSP to extract the ambience since these were original SQ QUAD recordings as emphasized in the DTS Martinon liner notes.

Two years ago such a remark would not have passed unnoticed on here! I agree with you completely specifically and generally.
