Has anyone auditioned this SACD yet? I just purchased a recent CD release of this album and the re-master SUX! It's overly-compressed and very bright. I hope someone else mastered the SACD.

I have both the stereo MOFI version andthe most recent 5.1 SACD release. The 5.1 multi-channel release is by far the best version of this album that I have heard.
Phenomenal sound. I highly recommend it.

Then why didn't you recommend it?

I really like this album and I've had quite a few different masterings of it but I still find most of them lacking in an "emotionally involving" presentation. I have had a few RB versions including the Hoffman gold. I also have the MoFi sa-cd. Until now the best version to my liking was the original rbcd pressed in (I believe) Germany.

I have been trying to find out how this WEA sa-cd compares to the MoFi one but have not been able to find any direct comparison of the two as to what if any differences there are in the sound presentation.

As I have the MoFi but still don't find it to my liking I have just ordered the WEA sa-cd in the hope that it will have a more involving and musical (to me anyway) presentation.

I'll review it after listening.

BTW all my listening is 2 channel.

Hi Larrymcl.

I have both the Mofi sacd and the dvd audio. Although I almost always like the sacd better..not so with this comparison.
Mofi tends to master flat and some of the sacd sounds this way. The Dvd Audio is mixed beautifully and sounds awesome.

If you have a way to Dvd Audio I highly recommend thtis version.

Cheers,
Rembrandt
