If you're in the UK, or have an ExPat app, it's available on the above link for 7 days following the broadcast. I'm listening to it now (17.16 GMT).

I will wait for the SACD, ever since I played the M2 on my system I wanted the M5 from these same forces, when will it be released?

Actually, this is not the playing of the M5, although there are session snippets, but interviews by Andrew McGregor with Ivan, some of the BFO players, and Jared and Hein Decker. It's about making the music, and the recording. Very interesting to say the least.

If anyone is interested in a MP3 of this part of the program. I have a under 20MB file that I'd be glad to mail. Just contact my mail associated with tailspn.

Thanks to tailspn for this.
We are in for a wonderful #5...perhaps in ways as distinctive as Fischer's Mahler #1.

Ivan Fischer and the Budapest Festival Orchestra have been nominated for a Grammy for their recording of Mahler 1!

Congratulations!

Surely time for a new release by the BFO?

Maybe this time some Bartok, Schoenberg or Webern. Reckon they would be any good of Debussy; or Reich, Adams?

IOW, something more current than Mahler.

He was guest conductor of Berliner Philharmoniker in 2011. Did quite well of the 20c repertoire then:

It's only been out for a couple of months in the USA. I've had mine a long time cuz I got it from the CC site. Wagner is coming early next year I think.

My congratulations to all involved for the Grammy nomination!
