Track 7 "No sanctuary here" by Chris Jones has got to be the coolest song I have ever heard. Deep, deep bass, great music, excellent sonics and goosebumps galore!

DSD how is the music on the disc overall? Is the music multi-genre? Are they well recorded? I have been thinking about getting this one. Thanks!

Yup. Truly the highlight of the disc and a favorite for show demos for some years now. Stockfisch's catalog is not wide-ranging but what they have is good and superbly recorded.

JPC and amazon.de have soundclips for all the songs.

Discspinner actually I was listening to my 24/96 copy of the Stockfisch Records "Vinyl Collection Sampler" 180 gram LP and checked to see if Chris Jones' album "Roadhouses & Automobiles" which "No Sanctuary Here" is from was available on SACD, it's not yet. It is on this SACD sampler and only duplicates one song from the LP sampler Paul Stephenson's "Captain Of The Loving Kind" so when I see this SACD at a good price I will likely pick it up. All 10 songs on the LP sampler are sonically among the best, so the SACD should be just as great.

Well I actually ordered a copy from a Ebay seller a little cheaper than Amazon.
Thanks mainly to the lower shipping cost, 6$ versus 14$ from Fr/DE/ES
This is the first time I buy a so called audiophile demo SACD but listening to some sound clips the music seems pretty good.
I see that there is quite a few different vol for sale

Received my copy a few days back, at first it is impressive but after a while the presentation of sound started to bug me.
They are 2 aspects that do not sound right, on a few numbers the bass goes down to low, no normal instrument do so.
Then some of the voices just sound too big, totally unatural too close miked
So if somebody want to swop I'll let it go, some nice chamber music would do.
PM me privately.

One of my personal favorite Stockfisch 5.1 SACD releases (discrete, also) is Blue Chamber Quartet's Children's Songs......all 20 of them written by Jazz artist Chick Corea.

Their interpretations are incredibly tasteful, extremely well~recorded in a minimalist setting and will be a great companion piece for those who own the original piano versions on ECM Records of the Corea originals (also newly remastered by ECM).
