It already has its own thread and alas, it is going to be stereo only.

Is there meant to be 40 seconds of silence between Have a Cigar and Wish You Were Here?

No. If you hear nothing for 40 seconds, it is most probably because you are playing the mch layer but your rear speakers are not connected properly. The bridge between the 2 tracks (the sound of the car radio) is mixed to the rear right channel.

While it is true that Amused To Death is a stereo SACD release, it will be DSD remastered from the original "Q~Sound" master tapes which when encoded through a Dolby Pro Logic matrix (or similar) system should allow for some quite aggressive rear channel activity.

Indeed.

That's my favourite part of WYWH.

Floyd, Wish you Were here
What happened ? The sonics from this sacd are worst then the original Lp which I have a pristine UK first pressing ,
Play back is OK on vinyl .however WYWH is not in the same league as other Floyd recordings., not even close . I have listened to enough pressings over the decades to realize Wish you were a Here is a mediocre recording from the start.

Definitely there is some over enthusiasm over this re-issue , I'm happy I did not spend the money on this sacd.
I believe there were problems with the master tapes,...

You are entitled to your opinion. Me, I think it's spectacular.

By looking at the list of people who recommend this recording on this site, pretty much. You are in the minority on this, I'm afraid.
