This is in reference to the Analogue Productions release of this title. I couldn't find it after doing a search on this site, so am posting off of this version.

I just got Getz/Gilberto delivered to me yesterday, and it has fantastic sound. The vocals are miked "intimately," and it is like they are standing there. From highs to lows the sound is impeccable. I have to call out the bass treatment as being perfect to my ears. There is no need for the listener to generate qualifiers such as "sounds great for a 60s recording." The only thing the listener has to do is provide a nice bottle of wine and someone to share it with.

There are multiple versions of this in SACD and I haven't heard the other versions, however, it is hard to imagine that this version could be beat. I would be curious to know if anyone has made a comparison.

Truly recommended but I repeat this is the Analogue Productions release, and I am not familiar with the multiple others out there.

Got the SACD Stereo single layer version with white borders on the cover. The sound is so far the smoothest and oh-so-analogue version of this recording. I actually prefer the DSD version to the LP pressing of this record.

Compared it with 24 bit HD-master. Still, the master doesn't stand a chance.

Can't believe it that it is still not out of production (got mine many years back).
