Has anyone purchased this title?
I am considering getting it for my father-in-law. He already has the LP and honestly, it is pretty good sounding. So, I am curious if the SACD is an improvement over the LP and if it is true discrete multichannel or synthetic.
Any information would be appreciated.

Assuming it's the same (or similar) remaster as the DVD~Audio......it is quite discrete. Just be aware that there IS a three disc RBCD version of ALL the Nelson Riddle/Linda Ronstadt recordings, not just this particular one. But it has always sounded quite good although Linda is by no means Ella Fitzgerald or Sarah Vaughan or Frank Sinatra when it comes to interpreting these classic covers.

Thanks for the information on the 5.1 channels.
He already has the three releases on LP, and I would only replace them with multi-channel SACD's.

The complete Rondstadt/Nelson recordings are also available on a cheaper, two-disc set, which folds the three RBCDs into two, as the original disc were very skimpy on timing... Still are great listening... They sound great in surround SACD. I have both the DVD-Audio and the SACD. No difference... I just wish we could have the rest of the recordings from that master tape, instead of the short thrift we get here...

Thanks for that post. I was wondering if they had added any other cuts to this release.

I have the new 5.1 SACD of the Eagles "Hotel California" and if that is any indication they are sticking to the original album release (the exact same, also, as the DVD~A release).
I agree........they should've remastered all the Linda Ronstadt/Nelson Riddle material but the other two discs in the original package, as far as I know, were never converted to 5.1......And they certainly would've fit comfortably on 2 SACDs........
