At least one of the Sharp amplifiers, the slim blue/purple-ish one, actually had a proprietary connection accepting a pure DSD stream derived from the accompanying sacd player.

Yes, a proprietary connection to a sacd player that is no longer produced. It's high time someone designed a DSD amplifier that would come with interconnection interfaces such as USB, FireWire, HDMI...
