As always, good news. Just be aware that Analogue Productions has already released McCoy Tyner: The Night of Blues and Ballads and Oliver Nelson's masterpiece The Blues and the Abstract Truth on SACD for US $30 list (presently available at Amazon for under $24 each).

These Kubelik recordings are classics (does anyone actually call it "My Motherland" and not "Ma Vlast"?). I would buy in a second at $20, and consider seriously at $30. But not at $50. Great stuff for those who can get them for less or don't care about the $$$. Or other units of currency.

$50??????? Try $60 with p/h!

The base price for SHM~SACDs is currently $53.15 from CDJapan.

You could buy an uber trout with all the fixings and a lemon drop martini at my favorite French bistro in Southhampton, NY for considerably less!

Olivia-Newton John? Can't believe the Japanese have even heard of her. Our little Aussie Olivia on SHM-SACD. Not my style unfortunately.

Which will pass out your south end in short order. On the other hand, you can enjoy the SACD each and every day, if you want, until the day you die making it a bloody bargain in my book.

You're kidding, right? She has probably sold more records in Japan than in Australia.

A lot of money indeed especially if the end product turns out to be nothing special. Having been bitten very badly (on sound quality) with several of the Esoteric remasters, the act of faith required to buy even one of the Universal Music SHM's has so far eluded me.

Actually I thought it was "My Fatherland", but never mind.

I presume this is the Boston Symphony recording. He made at least five recordings of the work.
