Please please please release the Genesis SACD's...I'll purchase 10 of each if that's what it takes. :-)

BTW, I bet you'll find virtually no one buying the DualDisc version either when both the CD and a more expensive DualDisc of the same title are simultaneously released (like the latest FooFighters).

I'd buy those also. As well as the complete Yes catalog that Rhino was supposed to working on (DVD-A)

I bet all the Genesis SACDs come out in Europe only. Universal Europe is releasing new pop/rock SACDs on a limited basis--the Jacques Brel SACD I reviewed last week is one example. Here's hoping there are more to come...

Yes, you're probably right, like the Deep Purple Machine Head SACD release.

That's because in the US, Genesis is signed to Atlantic Records, part of Warner Music. And we all know which format Warner chose to support.

This is the same situation with Phil Collins, Dire Straits, Mark Knopfler, etc....

Can someone explain something to me? I always thought that the lack of new SACD releases from major companies was due to relativly poor sales. But, now, I see that Sting's SACD "Sacred Love" reached gold status in four european countries. Pink Floyd's Dark Side of the Moon sold 800,000 worldwide! Dylan's Sacds sold 200,000 units in the U.S. market alone. That's not enough? What's the real problem here?

Today I listened to three albums of Sting released on CD-DTS / DVD-Audio and compared them with two recent releases of Sting on SACD. In my opinion the superiority of SACD is so evident that I feel a bit depressed about the idea that the music industry apparently prefers to support inferior (audio) formats rather then SACD. Indeed: Please tell me why....?

I am not sure how much this contributed to the lack of pop recordings being released on SACD, but the issue of copyrights has always been mentioned. Apparently some music publishers and producers, and perhaps the artists themselves, want as many as 5 payments for one hybrid SACD (although I can't figure out whether the 5 versions come from). Sony was one of the companies that said "no" to such demands.

Would that not be for DVD-Audio ie DD2.0 DD5.1 DTS5.1 MLP2.0 MLP5.1? I can see where SACD could be only 3 RBCD, SACD2.0 SACD5.1?
