Esoteric Japan will release 2 new SACD titles in March 5, 2011:
ESSE-90049 Berlioz: Symphonie Fantastique - Orchestre de Paris / Charles Munch (EMI, 1967) http://www.esoteric.jp/products/esoteric/esse90049/indexe.html
ESSE-90050 Bizet: L`Arlesienne Suites 1 & 2 and Carmen Suite - Paris Conservatoire Orchestra / Andre Cluytens (EMI, 1964) http://www.esoteric.jp/products/esoteric/esse90050/indexe.html
Thanks, SACD Hunter.
But we may have some problematical picks here, again. The Munch Berlioz was a bit iffy, I recall:- the first recording from OdP, and a bit rough - playing and sound-wise. Plus it duplicates the Living Stereo in the SACD repertoire, of course. Having said that, that Shaded Dog is one of the worst I have, on vinyl or SACD...
The Cluytens might be a better bet. Although I know nothing of this particular recording, his earlier mono is well reputed and he was excellent in this repertoire.
Cheers.

Both albums have been very highly regarded in Japan and Korea. Probably no-brainer picks for them.

Hope they can recover some form after recent disappointmnets. A "new" L'Arsienne is welcome and long overdue, the only other version by an amateurish sounding Japanese band is unspeakably wretched.

dude, I really hope you don't advertise non-sponsors here, especially when there are absolutely legitimate sponsoring alternatives.

Esoteric is a special case with their own internal distribution arrangements via dealerships. Its the only way to get them in the UK so a tad unfair to chide.

I just provided for Mark Hoepfl a wide choice, including the only vendor listed on this site, not advertise at all. I don't know his location. Prices, shipping costs and VAT differ from different distributors and locations.
