...i maybe do something wrong. Maybe Audiogate does not create a SACD image. Exploring the dvd that i burnt, i cant see something wrong. It has a directory named DSD_DISC...

That's right, AudioGate does not create an SACD image but a DSD Disc. That's like a DIY SACD that's intentionally different from an SACD: no multichannel, no hybrid disc structure and no copy protection. It plays on all PS3s (even the ones that don't support SACD), the SCD-XA5400ES, the SCD-XE800 and on PCs (through software with a WMP plug-in that converts DSD to PCM or with DSD hardware assistance in some Sony VAIO PCs). It does not play on any other SACD player known today. It's an official but obscure format created by Sony and Philips.

Just to remind everybody of the following from the posting guidelines:

6. Posts encouraging or otherwise informing others of any means to circumvent SA-CD copy protection and/or posting of links to sites that offer pirated music content will be summarily deleted. Repeat violations will result in a permanent ban.

Like it or not, copy protection is a feature of the format. It could be argued that SA-CD wouldn't have gotten as far as it has without it. I recently wiped another seemingly innocent thread on "archiving your SA-CDs" and will have no hesitation in doing so again if this thread strays into the same territory. I don't want to clamp down on discussion of topics of genuine interest, but it's a pretty thin line and I will be watching.

I agree. But i dont think we try to do something illegal here. We do not try to crack any programms or copy any kind of protected material. We try to take advantage of a new "feature" that even Sony(!) gave us after so many years. "SACD" that i (and i think everyone else here) try to record is from music that we already have. SACD copying is illegal and impossible to my knowledge anyway.

We've been getting the DSD layer off of SACD's now for 3 years for HDtracks. It can be done with authorization from the labels.

AudioGate makes a DSD disc from your DSD files that you have recorded from your Korg unit or Sonoma. These discs can be played in earlier versions of PS3 and the above players
