Each artist expresses his feelings and his musicianship as he can! How important for a real music lover if these expressions are not photogenic?

P.S : A very very good blu-ray in a very beautiful Sheldonian Theatre !

The close-ups are distracting and should not be used. Lets see her like we would if we were in the audience. Not see her as if we were perched on her music stand. When the photography gets in the way of enjoying the music, it needs to be adjusted.

Yes Domimag a real music lover can just close his eyes, like I am accustomed to do in concerts anyway. But then why did I just purchase a new 50" wide screened TV? Well truthfully mostly for opera! But that same observation holds regarding unseemly close-ups. Sorry to disagree with you.

As to your comment on "very very good". I think it is only pretty good given the occasional bit of unexpected "digital noise" in the picture.

It's your opinion... just your opinion.
I often go to concerts and I NEVER close the eyes ;-) (and I always try to be close to the orchestra)

I'm rather surprised to see nobody has brought this issue up. So upsampling original 88.2kHz/24bit recording into 96kHz/24bit for bluray doesn't concern anybody here? The transition doesn't look very natural. This is one reason I would hold onto my DVD-Audios (being able to reproduce those 88.2/24 recordings in their native resolutions).

An interesting observation. My current system - the one serving the new TV - doesn't have the resolution for me to hear a difference. I will be doing something about that in the (I hope) near term.

see post 16 on this thread and another later reference "prefer the original PCM not changed to DSD" even more recently.
To me,all non numeric conversions at these lower levels are bad.

The stereo Naxos on sacds ARE Downmixes of the surround layer despite what madame DSD thinks.

I could understand upsampling from 88.2k to 2.8MHz (32x88.2k) for an SACD release but upsamling from 88.2 to 96k ??

BTW, I didn't see people complaining when Neil Young released his Archives vol1 on a fake 192kHz Blu-ray either

Blu-rays cannot handle 88.2kHz, correct?

The stereo Naxos SACDs have a high resolution stereo program and a high resolution multichannel program. The Naxos DVD-Audios have ONLY a high resolution multichannel program, to get stereo your player must downmix to stereo which doesn't sound so good. So for Stereo SACD is the way to go for Naxos, however I only found one Naxos SACD with good sound Shostakovich: Hamlet - Yablonsky so if I ever get a Blu-Ray player I won't be getting any Naxos Blu-Ray's.
