Sorry for asking this question, but how many SACD listeners need to buy yet another Beethoven PC disc? This is like bad dream. All these great artist, and only thing they record is Beethoven PC:s.

I agree with your overall sentiment. BUT, Vanska's LvB credentials are well known from the Syms series and Sudbin is an oustanding artist. I expect this series will be different (in a positive way) from the excellent Brautigam/Parrott releases and more in the mainstream tradition. So, this will probably be a purchase for me despite the repition in repertoire.

I agree.
I'm sure the results are going to be great, but I have too many recordings of these concertos.

Not me! I am looking forward to this and rather wish I had not purchased the Brautigam. Not a forte piano there, but hardly a modern orchestra either!
But as to your reference to "nowadays". BIS very recently gave us
Dutilleux, Lutoslawski - Christian Poltera, Jac van Steen,
Barber, Bernstein, Bloch - Gluzman, Neschling
Britten: String Quartets I - Emperor Quartet
Prokofiev: Piano Concertos Nos. 2 & 3 - Kempf, Litton
and
Shostakovich, Schnittke: Piano Trios - Kempf Trio
Which is nothing I am disappointed in. Further if it is to your taste, there is also Villa-Lobos: Floresta do Amazonas - Neschling. That one however probably won't get many more listens from me. It sounds like movie music, and while I never thought Shostakovitch's movie music did, nor Prokofiev's for that matter - this one is just too much in the Hollywood vein for me.

I love movie music and might just love Villa-Lobos: Floresta do Amazonas - Neschling to bad it is on BIS. I am so unhappy with all but a handful of BIS SACDs and MP3s I've purchased I would not be willing to gamble one red cent on it, however I would be willing to listen to it, perhaps a review copy?
