Paul, if you can't be civil we'll dispense with your contributions here ... permanently. I've had complaints.

It won't hurt me one iota. This place is becoming increasingly irrelevant. Especially when you have idiots spending small fortunes on speaker cables and complain about the cost of $30.01 SACDs - LOL!

Paul, since your comments were presumably directed towards me, a fellow New Yorker, I have only this to say:

On CNN last night, a billionaire from India built and is currently moving into a billion dollar dwelling replete with 3 heliports, 600,000 (yes, you read that right) square feet of living space and parking for 138 cars.

Within shouting distance of his home, people are living in abject squalor.

Suddenly, Meridian/SooLoos/Krells/expensive cable/Bugatis/Bentley's are irrelevant.

And even I am over $30 SACDs (I'm boycotting $70 Esoterics and SHM~SACDs, at present).

My point is, when you get over your sudden hissy fit outbursts and join the human race again, I'm sure Zeus, who is a forgiving god and other readers of SA~CDnet will welcome you back with open arms.

Until that time, please be well and get in touch with your inner child and eradicate ALL traces of adolescent jealousy. It is truly a hideously ugly trait. You want something......GO AFTER IT! That's exactly what I did.

......Ralph

It all about you - Nobody cares what the hell "you" think."

I don't think I'll be that quick to forgive...

Bye.

Zeus,

Since we are on topic, why not say bye, instead, to all (they are a few and always the same) who systematicly threadcrap with comments like:

- "it's going to sound bad" (without even having listen to it)

- "they are not going to use original master tapes" (without listenig to the end result)

- "no way I am going to pay more than ... for this, I REFUSE, absolutely REFUSE to pay more than ... for a single SACD" ("hey Bugatti, I want a Veyron but I will not pay more than 10 EUR for it, no way! well that's your problem Bugatti, solve it! shame on you, Bugatti!")

- "for ..., ... ought to come to my house and personally play it for me" ("hey Mr. Bugatti, for the insane price you charge for a Veyron, you have to come to my house and personally assemble it for me")

- "that's robbery" ("you are a thief, Mr. Bugatti")

- "Is that some POLITICAL comment?" ("well, Mr. Bugatti?")

Just for the record, this thread began with Paul Clark asking "Has anyone else heard of a defective batch of SACDs on this one?"

I symphathize with you, Paul!

@Alexandra,

All of my comments were responses to unnecessarily snotty comments originated by him.

Posting dumb comments isn't against the forum guidelines but being uncivil is.

And all I really wanted this Christmas was a sensible pair of shoes!

Fear not, Alexandre: Paulie Clark will re~appear on this website under a different pseudonym, namely, SUEZ (Zeus spelled backwards).

And what Zeus really should have said to him was "BUY".... as Paul is a chronic cheapskate who frowns on pricey purchases!

My thoughts exactly, how can a someone like Paul Clark who is so thrifty in all other areas of life think it is OK to pay $50 to $75 for short single SACDs? I would think he would be the very first person opposed to such price gouging? Where is the common sense? Alexandre what does Bugatti Veyron sports cars have to do with SACD?

I applaud the inclusion of SACD on BluRay players but since the WORLD mostly listens to Rock and Pop music how does that help getting more people to adopt the format if the only affordable SACDs are Classical and Jazz? Super expensive Japanese SACD imports will not do, WE NEED ROCK SACDs pressed in the USA and EUROPE at reasonable prices. Anything less is suicide for the SACD format IMHO!
