Thank you Fizcaraldo215 for jarring my memory on the Beethoven: String Quartets Op. 59 No's 1-3 "Razumovsky" - Tokyo String Quartet thread. Just now I went to Kuijken Two Generations to see what I had written in my review and -- no Beagle review! I knew I'd written one, and finally I discovered it among the documents rescued from my since-deceased laptop. A family emergency struck in February 2008 and the review was forgotten until this evening. Mea culpa, I blush since this recording deserves attention.

At the tail-end of the workday, it occurred to me that my review had not even mentioned the String Quintet in C which shares this disc with the String Quartet in C.... So I started to cobble together a few notes -- and ZAP! -- I deleted all but the first few lines of my review: Never never never insert german quotation marks (angled brackets) in HTML!!! (Poetic justice for cyberslacking?)

I repaired the damage as soon as I got home (where I had a copy of the original review), then I gave the disc a fresh listening-to and added a paragraph to give the Quint fair dinkum.

Here's somewhat negative German review but I am glad that I didn't read this before buying it.
