Now this is a surprise. I suppose it's an Asia-only release again. Not that it's any good. The CD version was quite bland, and doesn't really compete with the better versions out there. But it's still interesting that Naxos should release this on SACD.

Now here's a ballet that hasn't been done on SACD except for this long OOP release. You want to complain about something, complain about Tchaikovsky's ballets not being done. Of course, we do have Previn's old EMI from Japan now, but nothing of more recent vintage. And of course there's Sleeping Beauty, which is also missing. And that's for the complete versions of both, not some piddly disc of suites.

I would like to listen to my SACD again, but seeing it is now worth 138.95 Euro, I'm afraid of leaving fingerprints on it.

Claude I sold mine for $15 back when it was in print.

I wish RCA could be persuaded to do a set Polyhymnia recordings of Temirkanov and the St. Petersburg Philharmonic in both the music you mention above and (at least) the last 3 symphonies of Prokofiev!

Dont book a holiday yet.
The DVDA of this 24/48 has the same problem of tracks being equalized by a machine rather than a skilled engineer. Not quite as bad as Membran.
It does not have the typical Naxos glaze problem caused by the nearby use of a monitor at some point.
THE SACD DOES.Approx 16-17khz continuous.
The noise is clearly visible on this and is quite easily seen on the spectro piccies that I am not allowed to post.

Yes, but the "Rare" and "OOP" put on this listing on ebay will still bring more than what I paid for it regardless of how it sounds.

Rare and OOP: Sounds like a good job description on your resume, Snoop!
