Hey! That's my SACD player!
Have you tried McQuire's finished off with Turtle polish? Revealing - LMAO!

No I prefer Simonizing...older established method.. Also face magnetic north...at midnight...for added howeling effect..

The tailsmen love it too..--LMAO

I suggest you (Clem) and Paul Clark watch the new blu~ray release of Judd Apatow's "Freaks and Geeks."

As I said before, I would NEVER want to hear either one of yours stab at what a stereo system should sound like?

The Plug and Play mentality is entirely too grating for this "audio snob!" And, IMO, neither one of you are "POLISHED!"

And Clem, let's be real for a moment, You accused me of reviewing an album before it was in my possession and I accept that, because, in a sense, you WERE right.

But you're condemning my tweaks before you've tried ANY of them so who's the hypocrite?

Keep spending $20 on overnight delivery but GF*, you put that money towards a $44 German damper that really, really works!

[God, FORBID)

imo a unit out of the box should play well without modification if it dose not then upgrade. i belive u said that way back in the begining.

Just google Music Direct (located in Chicago Illinois). The SID damper comes in two sizes: for front loaders and for top loading transports.

And IMO, the NEW version of Ultra~Vivid Polish is fantastic

And let's stop this silly war.

I am NOT a snob.....I am really into audio, big time, and just want to share my "minor" successes with others.

If they didn't work (my tweaks), I would NOT be wasting my time and energy posting them.

I have an older DTS RBCD of Santana's Abraxas which upon first play sounded like SHIT!

I extensively tweaked it and now consider it one of the favorite surround discs in my collection.

Of course, I would much prefer it on SACD and perhaps Analogue Productions will include this on their upcoming QUAD SACD Columbia reissues.

The OOP SACD Santana: Abraxas sounds excellent is on my recommended list.

Opinions not like yours, should be respected.

I belive my impression of how this album sounds is defined by listening to it mainly on lp since 1973 when I first purchased a lp. It appears its sound signature is embeded in me. Insomuch everyone has different taste. I was just expecting better than what i had. I belive we have a evolution in sound and the original master sound is not the same. But enjoy it its not bad. Its just not the who I grew up on in the early 70..s. Maybe i need to start smoking pot again and only play this sacd. Hummm inticing

I agree. Even though I may believe a more "original" or least modified version is desirable for archival purposes and that version may even be superior musically- much like a live performance, the version we hear over the radio and from our ancient music sources may yet be preferred emotionally. And very strongly at that.
