First I was disappointed to find this double sacd was sold out, and even put up a want add. Then I found it in Brussels and was excited. But when I put the discs in my Philips LX8000SA, it only plays the multichannel tracks, three tracks on cd 1 and 1 track on cd2. Together less than 20 minutes. The stereo tracks of both cd's are not played. This is a single layer disc and my player is probably programmed to play only multichannel tracks, if there are any. Could this be the reason the discs are out of production, or are there SACD players that don't have this problem?

I just discovered that when I switch the player to stereo, all the tracks are played in stereo, including the surround tracks.

Doh! This is why most discs that have a mixture of stereo only and stereo/multichannel material have two total copies of the album on. The stereo area containing the full album in stereo, the multichannel area containing the multichannel tracks and duplicate copies of the stereo tracks where there is no multichannel track available.

If this disc isn't produced like that then you're stuck with having to change between multichannel and stereo manually... Somebody at the record company stupided :)
