Hello!

I live in Waltham, Mass.

I have all of the Mahler symphonies by Riccardo Chailly except for No. 6. I haven't seen No. 6 available at any music store in the US but I remember reading in the a recent issue of Gramophone that he's planning to finish his Bruckner symphony cycle now that he has completed his Mahler symphony cycle. And all this time I thought No. 6 was to be his next project!

Can anyone shed of light here?

Thank you very much.

Chailly's No. 6 is listed on amazon.com with a release date of March 1995:

I have the Chailly M6, this was recorded in 1989, it is one of the better Concertgebouw recordings, very powerful sound. The interpretation is a little on the slower side but if you are already familiar with Chailly conducting style there should be no surprises. If London/Decca decides to reissue this in SACD format I'll definitely go for it.

I have this 2CD set and I like the interpretation and the majestic (or even bombastic) Concertgebouw sound.

I don't think Universal will reissue a 1989 recording on SACD, because it is neither hi-rez nor multichannel (unlike the older mid 90's Mahler recordings by Boulez and Abbado available on SACD, which are at least multichannel)

Someone is selling it on eBay, but to the UK only, sadly. I have no connection to the seller:
