As I am NOT at liberty to divulge any further info, let it be known that a certain company specializing in SACD reissues will soon be tackling the entire Simon and Garfunkel catalog in multi~channel.

Wow, just when I was losing faith in the future of SACD. Ironically, the classic back catalogue of poular music could make this medium viable for non-classical and jazz labels.

A thought, I wonder if Graceland will be issued in SACD. To my knowledge, it never has. And as it sounded brilliant on CD (in my opinion), hwo amazing would it be on SACD?

For the first tiem in years, I'm excited about a (potential) SACD release.

I'm wondering, but why the negativity towards the Audio Fidelity gold CDs. How is that necessary? Why not just simply focus on Simon & Garfunkel on SACD? Furthermore, who's to say that the SACDs would make the gold CDs irrelevant? What if the SACDs, if they come to fruition, use the remixes found on the Vic Anesini remastered CDs? Not everyone likes the remixes. What if the mastering on the SACDs, if they come to fruition, is lacking? Being SACD doesn't necessarily make it great. I have many SACDs that pale in comparison to CDs due to poor mastering. Don't summarily write off CDs because albums are being reissued (maybe) on SACDs. Segue...

...Importantly, while Simon & Garfunkel on SACD could be great, there is nothing to see here at the moment. This is merely an Internet rumor at this point. There is no link to credible information and no source of the information named. Saying "As I am NOT at liberty to divulge any further info" leads me to believe you have no real information and don't want people to press you and call you on it. Where are you getting this from?

Quite simply, because NO formal announcement has been made but the genesis of the source is reliable. As for the Gold RBCDs (of which I own two), I do agree that RBCD can sound wonderful (I'm using the Meridian 808 as my source), but in this day and age of 96/24, blu-ray audio and SACD WHY, IMO, release pricey Gold RBCDs? I respect Steve Hoffman and own all of his audio fidelity SACDs but I question his decision to go to all the trouble to access the mastertapes for the purpose of 16/44.1 remasters? That is my simple logic.

Good question, IMHO transferring master tapes to 44/16 rbcd is a complete waste of time when the other company can use the Grimm converter and release the same titles on stereo/multichannel SACD.

I agree with everything you say but...

The decision to release the Audio Fidelity titles on Gold RBCD lies not with Steve, but with the label itself. Unlike his years with DCC, where he was an employee, he is just a hired gun for AF.

I'd prefer that all the AF titles were on SACD, especially considering the prices we're paying.
