Looks like Pletnev has now pulled out of the UK dates: http://www.bbc.co.uk/news/uk-scotland-10881012

He will be replaced by Andrey Boreyko.

It's true. We had confirmation from BBC Proms Director Peter Wright. 'We' have pulled out of the concert - Prom 44 - never having heard of Boreyko. Great pity as this was to be one of the highlights of our concert year.

Probably the short notice prevented one of the RBNO's more well-known maestros to take over. I'd hoped for Kreizberg but it was not to be.

All this publicity has certainly impacted the price of some of his recordings: His Rachmaninov/Prokofiev SACD is selling for $246 on Amazon!

surely that should be,
His SACD is NOT selling for $246 on Amazon ?

That's actually the lowest price for a new one!

Yes, but that doesn't mean anything. OOP classical SACDs like that are sometimes offered on Ebay with a Buy-it-now price of $100, but never sell at that price.

Sweet! My copy of the Rachmaninov/Prokofiev SACD just sold on Amazon. I should have set a higher price, but I still got about 3X what I paid for it!
