So if there is no need for WI-FI the S570 has no advantage over the S470, is that correct ?

According to the original 2010 CES press releases (both US and EU one), the S570 is not BD3D-ready; in that year's range only the S770 was -- until one month later the S470 was added in between. Not sure if the S570 was made upgradeable after all, otherwise it would break with 'line logic'.

The S570 also features 'IP Content Noise Reduction'.

As for sell-out prices, the current Amazon price is $159.99 (down from an SRP of $250). Just follow the 1st link above (edit: previous page)

What exactly is IP noise reduction ? does that apply to Blu Ray playback or only to streaming ?

The latter, it seems.

The 470 is identical to the 570 except the wireless. It too has ip noise reduction. They both have 3d.

In addition, only the S570 and S770 will convert DSD bitstream to 176.4 kHz/24 bit PCM if your receiver cannot process DSD Direct.

Whilst I've personally verified this in the latter model, Kal indicated the S570 will do so as well in an earlier thread. I've no experience of S570, though.

My statement was not based on personal experience but on a reliable source.

The following is stated in the S470 manual:

"DSD Output Mode
On- Outputs DSD signals from
the HDMI OUT jack when
playing a Super Audio CD.
When “On” is selected,
analog signals are not output
when playing a Super Audio
CD.
Off- Outputs PCM signals from
the HDMI OUT jack when
playing a Super Audio CD"

Doesn't it mean SACD may be converted to PCM ?

So the only difference other than WIFI, is what they call "IP content noise reduction". any clue what that means ?

My assumption here is that whilst all Sony BD players will convert DSD bitstream to PCM, models below S570 will do so at a lower sample rate (88.2/24).
