Very baroque: natural horns and biting bowing -- and VERY FAST, e.g.
BWV 1046 20:49 1991 Concert des Nations 19:51 1982 English Consort 18:41 1999 Stuttgarter Kammerorchester 16:57 2004 I Barocchisti
--Savall & Co. do the Adagio in 4:09 but the Barocchisti do it in 3:04 (and it sounds like the latter are doing ALL the repeats...).

I have to say that they are not doing all the repeats (Bach: Overtures - Suzuki who does notches up about 26 minutes and his account is nowhere near half the speed of Fasolis)! It does sound rather nice though - put onto my wish list...

I have both the SACD and the Surround Records Blu-ray music release. (The BR eliminates the Suite #4, substituting a Triple Concerto.) I am not overwhelmed by the I Barocchisti performances. Sonically, it is good on SACD, but considerably better on the BR, as I have previously posted. For those interested, it was originally recorded in 96K PCM. But, I and my cohorts also found the BR version preferable of a Brendel Mozart DSD-mastered SACD. That was on 3 different systems. My findings are burried somewhere here at this forum.

I bought the Surround Records Blu-ray edition (that's what they call it anyway and uses a Blu-ray box) But what it is in reality is a duplicated dual layer DVD+R (CMC media) , not a commercially replicated pressed disc. May or may not play in your Blu-ray player, and you can only hope will last as long as your own home burned DVDs. It's fraudulent. Do not buy any Surround Records Blu-ray music releases.

I found this thread, where the Surround Records owner answers questions. I didn't see if he adresses the DVD-R issue
http://forum.blu-ray.com/insider-discussion/63987-ask-questions-blu-ray-music-insider-alexander-j.html
It could well be that all his releases are DVD+Rs, because he put this very fishy explanation on the german Amazon site, to hide that his Blu-ray discs are really DVDs:
"Dies ist eine Audio-Only Disc. Die Mini Blu-ray Disc ist eine auf dem roten Laser basierende DVD mit Blu-ray-Datenstruktur und -Inhalt, deswegen wird auch die Bezeichnung BD-9 genutzt, eine Mischung aus BD (für Blu-ray Disc) und DVD-9."
My translation: "This is an audio-only disc. The mini Blu-ray disc is a DVD made with a red laser and using Blu-ray data structure and content. Therefore the term "BD-9" is being used, a mixture of BD (Blu-ray disc) and DVD-9."

Anyway, I wouldn't trust a guy who so frequently puts portraits of himself on the cover of his releases ;-)

Pure and simply this is a fraud, NOT a Blu-ray commercially replicated pressed disc. NOT copy protected (DVDs you burn at home can not be copy protected) so I simply made a backup copy to another dual layer Verbatim DVD+R. Better media than the CMC that they burned to. You could burn dozens of these and stick them in Blu-ray boxes and sell for 1/2 the price they are charging.
