Hello,
I recently saw this gloriously performed by the BSO and I would like to pick up a good performance on SACD. I see there’s quite a few to choose from, so I am soliciting recommendations. Thanks.

I have 6 SACDs (Reiner, Haitink, Fischer, Macal, Boulez, and Tilson Thomas). If I could have only one, my choice would be the Fischer. I also like Macal and Haitink.
Reiner and Bernstein (I've only heard RBCD of the latter) are famous historical performances, but I don't think they have the combination of great music making with great modern sound that you're likely to want.

Nott on Tudor is another great recording.

I agree. It's quite outstanding and beautifully recorded. I still like the Cleveland/Szell performance with Judith Raskin as well.

Relistening to the MTT right now, which is pretty good but might be a little too mannered for some. At the moment, my choice is Fischer. Miah Persson alone is worth the price of admission.

Fischer first!! BUT If you get a second performance, and you aren't hung up on an RBCD version, get the Szell on Sony--- Cheap cheap cheap! just remember to listen to redbook first before SACD---not after!!!
