I am looking for the cheapest place to get the following SACD's:

Make it Big - Wham!
All 'n All - Earth Wind & Fire

These were only released in Japan as far as I can tell. I can't make heads or tails of the Amazon Japan website. Is there a US retailer that carries these titles? Alternatively, does anybody have a copy that they would like to get rid of (I have read the less-than-favorable reviews of the Wham SACD on this site so I'm assuming someone out there wouldn't mind selling his copy). Thanks a lot!

This isn't the place for WTB ads. If you add these titles to your Wish List, a link will be created to the seller when they advertise theirs for Private Sale here.

See my earlier post on buying stuff from amazon.co.jp:

Try http://www.audiogon.com go to there music for sale section you could post a WTB ad for free, it may be far shot but its worth trying. Or post this question over there in the forums section, you'll more likely reach a lot more people. No knock on this site but it just doesn't see the volume that some of the other audio sites do(audiogon and audioasylum for example)- this site is fairly new and aimed at a small demograph of audiophiles(and we all know even normal audiophiles aren't a dime a dozen, let alone those new fangled hi-rez folks). Good luck hope your able to find it.

I was able to track down the one elusive out of print SACD I wanted so far and have been very pleased with it. The quest was fun and the reward was even greater- don't give up.

Where did you get this idea? This certainly wasn't my intention.

I can not sense if that was sarcasm or not, but if it wasn't.... How many audiophiles are out there? not that many I live in a fairly populated area of the USA and there are about 8 of us in a 40 mile radius- I am sure there are more but they either don't get on the internet or have no desire to talk to other audiophiles, which makes things even worse. So of the 8 audiophiles in my area who actually comunicate with one another, 2 of us have SACD players, the other audiophile has 4 or 5 sacd's as where I have 120+sacd's. Now do you see why I feel its a small demograph? Like I said I am sure there are others in this area but they have no desire to chat with other's who share there interests, so out of a few million there are 2 that I know of and the other one doesn't post here(or on any other site for that matter)- that's a very SMALL percentage of a market. However supportive I am of something I can't ignore the facts of how few people are into this hobby let alone SACD.

This site is targeted at anyone and everyone with an interest in SACDs, not just "audiophiles". Whether you have a very modest system, a mega-buck hi-fi (or at some time in the future just play them in multichannel in your car) doesn't make any difference. Given the profile of some releases it's pretty hard for new music buyers not to notice that SACD at least exists. Some of these will be curious to find out more, and more specifically the availability of music they like on the format. Hence this site. There's a lot more users of this site (and of a greater diversity) than you would appear to think, as I've discussed earlier.

in the light of the discussion between zeus and tireguy on demographics, a discussion which arose from a search for a WHAM disc (the mind boggles sometimes), I couldn't resist speculating on a couple of demographic characteristics of site users. There are 294 site users registered, and my first guess is that no more than four of those are female. My second guess is that the overwhelming majority of the 290 males (lets say 260 of the 290) are between 35 and 60. I draw no conclusions from these speculations.

Stephen- When I posted this it was the 27th view, you call that a lot of people? Seeing as you and I have posted several times? I have threads that I started at other audio related sites with over 6000 views, even with some repeat views from the same people that's a whole lot more then 27. I think this site is great and its off to a great start however the numbers(as I see them) don't lie.

I suggest that your metric simply isn't valid. Here's last month's site statistics:

these are excellent figures, and particularly encouraging is the fact that approx. 20% of all unique site users in September were first time visitors, - if this growth rate could be maintained that'd be healthy for both this site and for SACD. The fact that there were some 24,000 repeat sessions in september also indicates that current users feel that the site is definitely offering them something. I don't think, apropos tireguy's comments (and assuming I'm interpreting them correctly), that a small number of views of a particular thread means anything much, - some threads will attract attention, some won't. And this site isn't just a forum but one for news and reviews, so i think stephen is quite right to focus on and be encouraged by the overall visitation numbers, which is a much better gauge of success and growth rate.
