Does anyone know where this might be obtained, or own it and want to sell it? Thanks.

It's now out-of-print, but I can check for you here in San Francisco. The price of this SACD, if available, is kind of "up there".

Don't go out of your way, but any casual inquiries would be appreciated. It'll be a while before I get back to SF, and I wouldn't really know where I'd look anyway (China Town, I assume). Of course, I do live by Vancouver, where it was recorded, and a city with its own share of Chinese community and audiophiles. If you have any suggestions about where in Vancouver I might look for this, let me know. Thanks for your help.

I'm sure it will be expensive. I'm pretty sure I want it, but the availability of the XRCD24 remastered version may put some limits on how high I can justify going.

It's also available on audiophile vinyl as well.

If you're in Vancouver, you can check with MAL Music. Their address and telephone number is....

115 East Pender Street, Vancouver
B.C. Canada V6A 1T6
Tel.: (604) 688-2831

Their website says that this title is no longer available, but you may want to ask anyway. They seem to be veru accomodating when I send them e-mails.

BTW, have you seen the follow-up to "River of Sorrow", the recently released "The Gossamer Song"? Check out the below link....

The Gossamer Song - Hui-Fen Min & Xiao-Fen Min

I'd forgotten about MAL. I looked at their site some time ago. I've got it bookmarked now. Anyway, no luck so far. I've also tried www.a4audio.com in Ontario and www.audioarte.net in Spain. I'll probably go for The Gossamer Song first. I'm sure the (limited edition!) XRCD24 version of River of Sorrow would be good if I can't find the SA-CD.

By the way, I've read that the XRCD2 version of FIM's Favorite Chinese Instrumentals is actually better than the SA-CD version. The recordings were made in the 1980s, so I can imagine JVC's transfers perhaps resulting in a better end result than the DSD transfers. I was thinking of posting a separate thread about this. Does anyone reading this have any relevant knowledge or experience?

Would anyone happen to sell a copy of that one ?
Seems OOP except for Amazon.co.jp, which is unreachable for me as a western guy.
