i see , so an mp3 of a cd is in fact a lossy of a lossy..using that logic...that means cds are a rip off...thus suggesting that either dvd audio or sacd should therefore be 'standard' issue..also taking into account the industries ever complaint about piracy and 'rips' (er why is there a rip option on ms mediaplayer then?

er so why are SHM CDs soooo expensive...available mostly in japan..apparently playable on standard cd player..soo why they 'sound better' on standard cd players is it pit depth/size and that srory about putting your cds in fridge and the other srory about running a black marker line around the edge of cd..too
true or bs? and would it aslo work on sacd? drawing round an sacd? at hte price they cost?..

Bob, not wanting to sound arrogant here, but I suggest you do a little more reading on the forum (or google, wikipedia, books etc.) before asking lots of questions that sound very naive. People will assume you are trolling.

ok so follow the logic of this ..sacd is rubbish and not as good as rb cd...which at time was accepted as a quick fix and not up the required level..so its been a convenience since...also you state meredians dis assocation due to the mlp dvd audio connection of which you say is now defunct...
right no more sacd no more dvd audio..as rb cd is way far superior...so down that line lets abandon cd..and just go for mp3...wait even better sampled at 22khz....and in mono....
yay!!! industry breathes sigh of releif at this point as manufacture cost go down as those 'pesky' audiophile have had their come uppance..yes back to lets make it cheap and lets make it crap but sell sell sell its like digital tv..it aint about the quality its the quantity...

Bob personally I think these fancy low resolution CD formats such as SHM CDs are bogus and a SHAM! Despicable, they should be real honest to god SACDs, the dirty cheats!

I agree, I see these alternative CD formats as XRCD, SHM-CD, LPCD etc as a pig with a jewel in the nose in a window shop.
They are not the real thing as SACD. just a second class product behind of DVD, Blu-Ray, vinyl, download files... with a full price.
A Wonderful Hybrid BIS SACD have a fixed price of 21 US dollars only.
