For chris'sake, guys, kindly leave the room and duke it out outside.

But leave us out of it.

This has nothing to do with Sibelius, SACDs or music. At all.

And we have enough wars and other catastrophes on our doorstep without raking over the events of nearly 70 years ago.

Plus you're getting REALLY boring.

Amen to that! Comments like these have gotten members banned from other sites, and if they pursue, I'd like to strongly suggest that one or both of these "gentlemen" get the boot. Talk about veering off topic...

You mean the Japanese who brutally attacked the USA at Pearl Harbor killings thousands? The same Japan whom the USA helped rebuild after the war ended and who is now a strong ally with the USA? What's your point, moron?

Since I was called a moron I will make a short and final comment. In Pearl Harbor 2402 people died, all military. In Japan millions died, almost all innocent. I warmly recommend the film "Grave of the Fireflies" to everyone.

Sibelius´ biggest problem was how to get hold of is beloved cigars.

A complete apples and oranges comparison. Pearl Harbor threw the US into the war. The attack on Japanese cities was a reflection of why we went to war--to defeat the Japanese war machine. The two are no where near the same thing and, no, not millions of innocent Japanese died at the hands of the Americans, not even close. Many Japanese citizens were sacrificed by their own government. Please do learn some accurate history before spouting fabrications. I lived in Japan, my wife is Japanese, and her family lived through the Tokyo firebombings.

How typically high handed and shortsighted a response .
Please try reading the thread and observe where and who started taking the thread off topic. It because crystal clear who dragged this thread into the mire.

You will then realize the stupidity of your remarks which themselves are off topic. How hypocritical.

Should we ban all those who go off topic in which case your mimimal contributions would have also ceased long ago.The guidelines were issued by Zeus and several of the phone box quorum exceeded these guidelines long before I made the observation. If you cannot abide fairness and open discussion you have a very easy option.Set up you own cheerleading forum.

THERE YOU ARE VAAN THE JAPANESE ATOM BOMBED THEIR OWN PEOPLE.

We NOW appear to have had the most distorted history lesson of all time.
Well done sa-cd.net
I told you Hollywood would get it right but I obviously underestimated Flung dunky getting in their first.
Its no wonder Col Gadaffi is using the same justification nowadays that FD has implied.
Mind you I dont agree to him being banned on this site. Its educational.I also have a relative in Japan.

Zeus Hi

May I respectfully suggest this infantile behaviour is brought to a belated end by closing this thread now? And/or trolling both parties concerned.

Not only is this farago of nonsense distasteful but also unusually persistent and boring. And it comes after an extended 25+ page dialogue of the deaf on this thread that - if you read it from scratch - would make for a rather surreal comedy of the insane...

As for the rest of us, I suggest we veto the thread until such time as it may once again relate to such matters as music, SACDs or Sibelius.

It stopped being that around page 4.

Thank you, and see you all in another thread.

I am staying out of the "political" discussion - but I have to concur with the recommendation of "Grave of the fireflies". It is sobering, moving, maybe "gripping" would be a better description. It is also immensely sad. If I recall accurately it refers to the "firebombing" of Japan not the atomic devastation of Hiroshima and Nagasaki.

And I too, (now having said the above), want to concur with bissie in calling for an end to the bickering and a return to the "Sound of Sibelius".

No, it is not obvious, not to me. I was referring to discussing the WW2, which, try as I might, I cannot see has any relevance to a discussion about Sibelius and the sound of him.

Your reasoning seems to me to be as bad as your spelling (yes, that was unkind, and I apologize).

If by "closer to home" you mean that I should have been aggressive and insulting, I am sure that you can find instances of that, even though I try as well as I can to be civil to everyone, including you.

Robert

Apologies to bissie and Jonalogic for the off-topic discussion on this Sibelius thread. My take on the Sibelius is that the various pieces are compelling, both musically and sonically, and it's typical of the two dozen or so wonderful BIS releases in the past two couple of years in particular. Sometimes, however, I can't believe, and am embrassed by the shit that bisse is subjected to in this forum in the name of serious music.

However, I should take this opportunity to say that this forum is a terrific resource I have visited almost every day since 2007. Zeus certainly deserves all the credit he gets for its creation and maintenance. I usually don't make any buying decisions without consulting the excellent reviews of Polly, Castor, Geo, and others such as Jonalogic and Vaan (when he was posting reviews several years ago). In addition, the technical information offered by tailspin, Fritz, and others has been invaluable to present the best sound possible available with my equipment.

The off-topic discussion is not really about who did what during WWII, it's about the inflammatory comments initiated by Troll-Buster about nations (USA), cultures (Americans), and ethnic groups (Muslims). It's about Troll-buster and his obvious delight in tweaking the personal sensibilities of the above while hiding behind the anonymity afforded by this forum. It seems most every message board, forum, etc., has a version of Troll-buster, apparently a necessary evil tolerated at many sites. However, his comments serve no good purpose here.

My concern is why this sort of excrement, as represented by Trolley (sic) needs to be tolerated on this forum of serious music lovers. The forum is better than that. Unfortunately, based on my PMs with a couple of other American forum members last night, it's possible that SACD-net may lose some members if this sort of malicious trashing continues to be tolerated.

Thanks for listening.

It is hardly suprising that you are in agreement in your insignificant private emails to other shit flinging posters on this site. Its hardly relevant. You seem to be in the same mould in your current posting. My highlighting it was hardly the start of the issue.
You are correct as a newbie with little or no significant input to the forum in having your opinions. Many have already left this site for many reasons including the bullying and insulting by those mentioned. Its just those that are doing it do not seem to like it when it is reversed onto them.
If my efforts to curtail it are succesfull then maybe they will return but after years of input into this forum Im beginning to doubt it.
Ps my private emails enourage me to stand up to the bullies. One from the USAnotes that threads 27 nad 274 NOT by me initiated the war unless you are related to Forrest Gump..Both are from people in the Bissie cheerleading forum.
Curious as to hiding behind blah blah Your location is not disclosed but its clear you are American.
Hypocri city perhaps ?
