"This SACD is an expression of my gratitude to and my deepening relationship with the spirit of Africa." And thus begins a musical journey that will transport the listener on a rewarding, transcendent experience. The voices, both sung and spoken are sublime! The album is meant to be heard in multi-channel as it envelops the listener in exotic, otherworldly bliss. Highly, highly recommended (if you like Odetta and Miriam Makeba).

Hi Rammie, This spirit of Africa is tied up in the name of Jesus. You work much this friday-saturday posting a dozen of messages. As a brasilian, after listen samples on Amazom.com, this is not exotic for me, but If you like this music enjoy. Maybe you could like samba of other brazilian music.

the samples are only a tease. The actual recording is splendid, especially in multi-channel. And samples don't give the music a chance to breathe. Gustavo, I love Brazilian music and have had the opportunity to see Bebel Gilberto in concert but I wish Verve would release all of Astrud Gilberto's music on sacd especially since she was backed by some of the jazz legends (there's only a so-so album on DVD-A and some duets with Stan Getz on sacd but her "Look to the Rainbow" album, arranged by Gil Evans, is masterful!)

Looks you like female voices, so I will recommend to you something special, a popular singer that sing well and plays trumpet with the mouth/toungue(without a trumpet instrument), I see her on a TV show playing guitar, sing and playing the mouth, was to envy Miles Davis. Her name is Selma Reis, I do not find a sample with this mouth example, but listen ''Ombra Mai Fu'' sample, track 3, at this site: http://www.selmareis.com.br/ after click ''ENTRAR NO SITE'', after click ''DISCOGRAFIA'' buttom, and click the album ''SAGRADO 2007'' cover.
