My great wish for the coöperation between Fischer, BFO and Channel Classics is a recording of the Schönberg orchestration of Brahms piano quartet. With some gipsy music as fillers. I remember the BFO was performing a program like this in concerts last year.

My only wish is that he remains with Channel Classics to helps redress the balance with chamber music on that fabulous label. Naturally I'd like him to release more than two discs per year but he's a busy boy.

I'm delighted to say that I'll see him AGAIN in a couple of weeks at the RAH in London, can't wait!

I strongly support this idea. That would be a recording not to be missed.

This sounds like a wonderful program. I have sent this off to Ivan and we will see what happens!

Jared, the 2010/2011 Great Performers subscription brochure from Lincoln Center contains the welcome news that Ivan and the Budapest Festival Orchestra will return in January playing Stravinsky; the Rite of Spring, Scherzo a la russe and Tango, and Haydn; Symphonies 92 and 102, the C Major Cello Concerto, and the D Major Piano Concerto, divided between two programs. Are there plans for Ivan and Channel to record these or other works of Stravinsky and Haydn?

Also, I hold tickets for their performance of Beethoven's 6th & 9th Symphonies on March 28. Will Channel be recording the performance?

I am on my way as I write this (with a short stop in Munich). Staying at Dejan Lazic who just played an incredible recital last night here in Munich. Tomorrow to Budapest to record Beethoven 4 and 6th. The orchestra has just been touring (and indeed will be playing these at Lincoln center with the complete series at Lincoln center. (age of enlightenment playing half of the Beethoven.) While in Budapest, we will do the final editing of the Dvorak 7th. It has been difficult to get Ivan pinned down these last two months to finish this!) We are indeed also looking into recording some of the program like stravinsky etc. in the coming year.
greetings
jared
