Hello guys! First post on this forum.
I have just ordered a BDP-83, and will use this to feed a Logitech Transporter digitally (the transporter have no analogue inputs). The Transporter will work as a DAC and pre amp.
Is it possible to read SACD, convert the DSD to PCM, and send this over S/PDIF to the Transporter?
If not, is there any other simple fix, adapter, gadget or mod I could do to transfer SACD music from the Oppo player to my Transporter.
Analgue output from Oppo and A/D coversion is out of the question.

I do not think so as Oppo says that SACD cannot be output via coax/optical, not DSD.
I do not know of a (cheap/easy/readily available) solution. I had a DV-980 modified to output S/PDIF from SACD but the cost is almost equal to price of the player.

The HDMI switcher may work if it doesn't muck with the audio and just passes it through. I say this because I use the DVDO EDGE ( http://www.anchorbaytech.com/dvdo_edge/product.php ) as my A/V hub, and I have my OPPO BDP-83 connected to the EDGE via HDMI for DVD/BD. I also have it directly connected to an external DAC over coaxial and analog for CD and SACD playback as I don't want the DVDO in the chain for no reason when listening to audio - just for DVDs and BDs. But after reading your post, I tried connecting an optical out from the DVDO -> external DAC, and through the DVDO, I can get the OPPO to play SACDs converted to PCM. So while it won't do that over it's own S/PDIF outputs, the OPPO will send PCM converted DSD over HDMI to the DVDO (hub) and then in turn the DVDO sends the PCM to the DAC. So it works with the DVDO. And my reasoning is that it should work with the products in your links - just find out that they don't process audio - just pass it through.

Hi all !
I have a little question about the OPPO BDP-83. I would like to connect it to and old stereo amp through the "stereo audio out" terminals of the player for the audio signal, but using the HDMI cable for the video signal directly to my TV at the same time. Is it possible ?
Thank you for your help !

What is the country of manufacture for the BD-83?
I have an otherwise interested friend who won't purchase anything made in China!
