AFAIK, all the new releases are MCH.

Surely, all new Hybrid-SACD recordings are triple layer and therefore MCH, otherwise what would be the point? The only reason they'd leave out a MCH layer is if it was a re-recording of an old stereo-only PCM master and then only a few would consider buying?

I haven't heard this release but have a very good recording on Telarc Brahms: Ein Deutsches Requiem - Spano. Would anyone who's heard both, care to offer a comparision?

The Telarc is boring.

It's been a while since I've heard the Telarc, but I certainly didn't get the impression that it was boring. As can be expected with Atlanta, everything was very rhythmic and precise. Dotted i's, crossed t's. At least to me though, not boring.

I have the Telarc and have only listened to it once. I wonder if that is because my first impression (which I would not admit to myself then) was the same. I've just really had no interest in hearing it again. This Boston Symphony performance is quite different. I really am looking forward to rehearing it!
